Dr. Sakhalkar, assistant professor of Ophthalmology recently joined the UF faculty. She completed her Ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University – Shreveport. She received her fellowship training in Cornea and external disease at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute, Oklahoma.  She is board certified in Ophthalmology. Her clinical and surgical interests include cataracts, corneal transplants, DSAEK, dry eye disease, Fuch’s dystrophy, contact lenses and refractive surgery including LASIK, PRK and LASEK. She also provides adult and family based comprehensive ophthalmic care. Dr. Sakhalkar is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery (ASCRS) and American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO).
