Lake City VA

The resident rotation at the Lake City VA is traditionally a resident favorite.  The rotation is designed for PGY 4 level residents and includes a significant amount of hands-on patient care.  Residents are given a high level of responsibility and autonomy.  They are expected to provide top quality and efficient eye care to full clinics of complex patients.  Every effort is made to provide the tools and the help to accomplish this in a very pleasant work environment.  In addition, motivated residents perform up to 20 O.R. surgical procedures and up to 10 minor procedures and lasers per week.  Residents typically rotate through for 10 weeks.  The Lake City rotation is meant to fine tune clinical and surgical skills in preparation for practice.  Karl Bodendorfer, MD heads the rotation and is the main contact person.
